From years of putting files in front of bank credit teams, we can say this with some confidence: most MSME rejections are documentation failures, not business failures.
The recurring five: banking that doesn't reconcile with GST turnover; financials that show losses engineered for tax; missing or expired statutory registrations; existing-loan overdues (even small, forgotten ones); and projections with no credible basis.
Each has a repair path — from routing genuine turnover through banking for two quarters, to restating financials with a clear bridge note, to closing stray overdues before applying.
A rejection is information, not a verdict. Diagnosed correctly, most files are sanctionable at the second attempt — often with a different lender whose policy fits the profile.
